Pejagalan Urban Village Becak Drivers Socialized

North Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. personnel have registered 180 becak (cycle rickshaw) drivers in Pejagalan Urban Village, Cilincing, and put sticker on the vehicle. It is done in urban village office on Thursday (1/25) afternoon.
We encourage them not to operate in main roads but environment roads
Pejagalan Urban Village Head, Yogara Fernandes explained, Jakarta Governor has instructed his side to put stickers and register becak drivers to control becak operation. Registered becak drivers were also socialized about roads that can be crossed by them.
City will Re-Arrange Becak Operational"We encourage them not to operate in main roads but environment roads. This policy is applied while waiting for regulation to be made," he informed, Thursday (1/25).
He mentioned, around 95 percent of total becak vehicles which operates in his area have been registered and have stickers. He admitted, sometimes becak is needed by some people, especially women who are shopping in market.
"Indeed, it is still needed, but since 2016, we have to control disobedient becak drivers who use main roads," he added.
